Following a brief stint working abroad in the oil rig construction industry, Simon retrained and qualified as an accountant in 1989, before going on to enhance his tax advisory skills by qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1992 . Simon joined Clough and Company in 1993 and then worked his way through the ranks; in 2002 becoming the first non ICAEW partner appointment in Cloughs then fifty year history. An accountant and trusted business adviser, Simon splits his time between the Keighley and Cleckheaton offices and specialises in delivering proactive strategic advice to a portfolio of approximately one hundred successful owner managed businesses. Away from work, Simon is married to Lesley with two sons and enjoys a typical ‘hectic’ modern-day family life. As a former player with Huddersfield, rugby union is a great passion and most weekends will see him pacing the touchline ‘articulating and de-stressing’ whilst watching his sons play at some far flung Yorkshire rugby club. |

Outside of the office, anything of a sporty nature is of interest but having played football and cricket at a decent level, Chris now prefers a relatively sedate round of golf. |
