Formed a copper wire manufacturing business Tri-Wire in Yorkshire in the mid 1980s which achieved a highly profitable turnover of £18m in its third year of operation. The business was sold to French telecommunications giant Alcatel in 1989. Today the business is one of a few still making copper wire in the UK and is located here in Yorkshire and has a turnover of £55m and is part of Nexans.

Since that time Danny has developed a highly successful career advising, mentoring and sharing knowledge and contacts. 

Additionally Danny has undertaken a number of Non Executive Directorship of both SME and PLC Businesses in a wide variety of industry and service sector businesses throughout the UK. He was extensively engaged and retained as and adviser the Boards of  a number of professional Rugby and Football Clubs was the founder of the Calderdale and Kirklees Manufacturing Excellence Club, Chairman of The Yorkshire Leadership Academy and through Yorkshire Forward and Business Link programmes has successfully advised thousands of businesses across Yorkshire and Humberside region from start up to established trading.

Danny is adamant that the key to success "is not only having a great business idea or product but accessing good advice. In my formative years in business I was fortunate to have a number of outstanding mentors and role models, without this achieving success would have been much more difficult if not impossible"
